My intent, as the blog states, was to end up with two different chats, one on Discord and one on here, where swearing is allowed in the former and the latter must be kept family-friendly. My question is that if we go all-in, how will we be able to court new users who may not want to be constantly exposed to profanity?
In my opinion this isn't gonna help for what you're trying to say we should do to get back the TLOPO community. You've got to take into account even if we do get people from TLOPO editing on here, a lot of the TLOPO community uses Discord nowadays. So given the choice between Discord and the chat here, I think they'd prefer to use Discord, which in our case would be filled with language and probably really crude joking around between friends. And you also suggested we use the new code that puts the Discord chat up on Recent Activity, which would only further them to use our Discord instead of chat. Really unless we're all dying for the wiki to be flooded with POTCO content again (which has never been too great), I suggest we focus on the new games we have on our list of games here, and fully allow swearing with some rules still in place for arguing and what have you.
P.S. I also don't see why if you're trying to bring down chat swearing to almost nothing, why you wouldn't be suggesting we remove the right to swear on pages and blogs as well. I'm pretty sure THAT'S a bigger reason than the minimum amount of swearing we already allow in chat
