Since Mallace and G-man insisted on us having a discussion about this instead of going directly to a request, allow me to start said discussion with excerpts from Breasly's initial voting rights request:
"I've been an active member of this community since January of 2011"
It was pretty clear that John was active in 2011 up until the game closed, so that's obviously not worth disputing.
"I'm the oldest member, and though my activity has dwindled as a result of increased real-life responsibility, I still actively follow this site and sites like it, especially TLOPO."
Whether or not he's been following sites and sites like this, I'm unsure of; he very rarely came into chat or edited for a long stretch of time, so how would anybody know if he's been following us or not?
"I feel like I've been a staple member of the community, holding the most edits"
Holding the most edits isn't really relevant; the edits a person made in 2011/2012 don't really matter when you're measuring how active they are in 2016, years after the fact.
"and it'd be nice to be able to participate in a community I've treasured so dearly."
I think the past tense of "treasure" works the best here, considering one of the first things he did when he recently came back to chat was indirectly call us autistic (which, shockingly, he wasn't punished for).
Putting the contents of his request aside, Breasly's only been semi-active in chat for about a week now, approaching two. I think he should have to prove that he's here to stay before he can be considered for voting rights.
What do you all think?
