Returning from Mario Kart DS, Mission Mode is a single player mode in Mario Kart Online. In Mission Mode, the player is given a variety of special tasks to complete. It is unlocked after collecting at least one trophy in each of the seven cups in the game.
Overview
Only one mission is unlocked at the start. Once one mission is cleared, the next is unlocked.
If the player fails to beat the mission, they will have to try it again from the start.
Stars
Once the player completes the mission, they will receive a star for that mission. There are four possible stars the player can receive; bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The bronze star is awarded for beating the mission, whilst silver, gold and platinum stars are awarded for doing better than required.
Additionally, missions that have been attempted, but not completed, will be marked with a black star.
