==My 4th, and ''hopefully'' final request==
  +
Seeing as the Kingdom of Sardinia was actually claimed, I have decided to yet again make another request. I would like to request ownership of the Republic of Venice. I believe I would be a suitable leader because, well basically all the reasons stated in my other request. Anyways, bla bla bla, I hope you guys take the time to look at this. :)
  +
  +
Also I have been researching the history of the Republic for the past view days, so don't bother me about that.

Mecklenburg

I would like to claim the area of Mecklenburg, I have the support of many people. I will take Mecklenburg and give away the Nation of Malta. If this claim is not recongized or is ignored Malta will stay as my empire.

I support this proposition as Mecklenburg is more important than Malta and is in need of a ruler

A map for Roleplay

Since there has been much discussion about what land what countries claims and what they own which is in all and all effected by Historical accounts and Roleplay events in Game or on Wiki. So due to that I would like to make a Roleplay Map of the World and Europe with the assistance of all Roleplay Nations and Robert Mc Roberts. I would like your approval to start such matters and your help to End the Dispute on who owns what land or what what. If a country can show such cause in Game to change the True Historical View on Nations then we can accept that in our World Map. This project may take a week or 2 to fully complete. So I would like your Approval to work on such ASAP. These Map(s) would be a World Map for a Overall General View and then a European/ Northern African Map for a closer and clearer view since almost all the countires claimed are in Europe......... The 2 maps being used which I would like the Council's Approval.

Sardinia

Hello all,

This is not so much a request, but rather an informative message to all roleplayers interested. If you are (or want to be) a roleplayer, and are in need of a nation to call your kingdom, I have just discovered an overlooked European nation that is up for grabs: Sardinia. The Kingdom of Sardinia, lasting officially from 1720 to 1861, fits in with our timelime (1745) and is ergo qualified to have a king. Although Sardinia as we know it today is a large Mediterranean island belonging to Italy, during this time period the Sardinian kingdom comprised more than that; in addition to the island, the kingdom also included parts of modern-day southeastern France, Monaco, and northwestern Italy (refer to map). In 1745, the kingdom was very much independent, and would stay that way until being conquered by Napoleon in 1796 (and then ceding to Italy in 1861). Though this is not a massive country, it is still very valuable, and if there any roleplayers who wish to own a country, this is your chance. Just leave a resume below that includes why you think you should own this country, and the other members of the council as well as myself will decide who the victor is.

Some additional info about the Kingdom of Sardinia:

  • Capital: Turin (in northern Italy)
  • Languages: French, Italian, Spanish, Sardinian, Catalan, several others
  • Currency: Lira; ₤ (not to be confused with the British Pound, £)
  • Government: Absolute Monarchy (with prime minister and parliament)
  • Trade: Mercantilism
  • Population (1745 estimate): ~4,200,000
  • King in 1745 (for optional roleplay name): King Charles Emmanuel III

Jeremiah Garland 21:48, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Its claimed, this is what we gave shadow sail, since this was the nation that would later unite Italy.

Robert Mc Roberts For Crown and County!21:52, July 12, 2012 (UTC) Ill take it in th ename of Romania it would be highly appreciated! Regards, RSig3Norm 21:56, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

@Robert: Shadow-Sail is inactive, as is his heir, Kortez (Sharpe). But that is beside the point. Italy does not obtain Sardinia until 1862, as I said. It is independent right now.

@Albert: Eh... The whole point of this was to have some new roleplayers who want a country to claim it, and not somebody who already has a country :P

-- Jeremiah Garland 22:06, July 12, 2012 (UTC) But isnt another point is to give smaller countries a chance to expand? Just wondering there is truth in what you say. I also would like to request a different land and cancel out my request for Sardinia

The Truth About Roleplay

Hello all,

I feel obliged to write this, not to any roleplayer individually, but to several; to the entire community. I am not angry, this is not a rant essay, this is simply me stating what I believe to be the truth about roleplay nations as we know them. Many of you may be disappointed by my views, but do remember: these are my views, and not to be taken in an official manner (though I strongly think they should). I am not trying to be bias or favour anybody in what I am about to say, even if it may appear so.

Many of you may be familiar with the philosophy known as Darwinism, which centers around the simple scientific law of natural selection. According to this theory, better known as "survival of the fittest", more well adapted species tend to survive (and thrive) over their counterparts; in other words, there will always be a higher power and equality is null. Well, I feel the same idea applies to our roleplay nations.

This wiki's roleplay is centered around history, though there may be the occasional exception (e.g., Denmark belonging to England). As roleplayers, we strive to exercise correct history as much as possible, which is why I propose this truth to be made official. To remain historically accurate, we need to first recognise the world powers of 1745. What is a world power? A world power is any country who is advanced in many others politically, economically, and socially. For a quick example, two notable world powers of today might be the United States and China. In 1745, however, there were only four major world powers: those being England, France, Spain, and Russia. Sadly, France has little representation on the wiki. As for Spain, we have many issues to work out and decide with them. Other nations, such as Ottoman Empire, Netherlands, Austria-Hungary, Portugal, and Prussia, are secondary world powers, and just miss the cut (though they are all still very powerful). All other nations in 1745 are simply buffer nations, and hold lesser power than the others. Unfortunately, this is the sad truth. As in natural selection and Darwinism, there are certain nations that are superior to others, and obviously, there still are today.

Now let's take a step back, and look at this from a non-historical point of view. On the wiki, political, social, and economical superiority are impossible to measure, as they do not exist. Ergo, what is the main factor to decide a nation's power? Population and representation on the wiki. England, obviously, has the most, with Breasly, Mallace, Goldtimbers, Blastshot, Brawlmartin, Cannonshot, and many other users representing England on the wiki. Russia checks in at second place, with myself (Garland), Mikhail, Goldwrecker, Macmorgan, Goldshot, and partially Mallace (when he's not being a Jewish naked mouse). What am I getting at here? Simple. I've noticed a lot of... lesser nations recently show some strong aggression in the roleplay world, when historically, this just can't be right. Also, many of these same nations are also very densely populated, and lack the manpower to realistically do this.

-- Jeremiah Garland 03:33, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

No lazy version? xD, That's fine, I read it all. I agree that power should remain realistic, the more influence on the wiki, the more power.

Request.

Roleplay Council Acceptance Request

Dear Roleplay Council, boys, girls, gentlmen, lentlemen, ladies, and other living creatures.

I, Jack Goldwrecker, am reqursting an admittance into the Roleplay Council. The following are reasons I believe I would qualify for this position. Thank you for reading.

  • Roleplay Title/Titles: Tsarevich of Russia, Commander-In-Chief of Russia's Military, former Prime Minister of Prussia under Lord Matthew Blastshot, member of the League of Independent Nations, numerous positions in the British Empire (minor).
  • I have been on the wikia since early 2011, and have been roleplaying since the same date.
  • I feel that my acceptance would be beneficial to this council because: being able to acknowledge both sides and giving an unbiased decision; help roleplay with my ideas; strongly enforce the rules made by the Council, and commit to follow them; use my knowledge of European and American history to keep roleplay as accurate as possible.

I know that some people on this council, and this wiki, would decline this due to my history of immature actions and events, but I believe I have made a huge dramatic change from when I joined this wiki, and I think some would agree with me. I would like a chance to show you that I can, in face, take this position very responsibly. As for my traits that I think would be beneficial here: I am very outspoken, serious, proud, and exetrmeley determined person. However, I can be stubborn and rude at times, but I try to keep that at bay. Also, I am very slow to anger. I have roleplayed for numerous countries (England, Spain, Prussia, Russia), and know numerous history on European countries. I also am a very passionate "politician," and I think many people would agree with me when I say I'm a very skilled and serious debater. I would appreciate it if you considered this seriously.

Jack Goldwrecker.

And forgive any spelling and grammar mistakes, I didn't have time to look this over.

I have no problem with this; you'd be a great addition to the council. The only thing I'm concerned with is I'm not sure how many people Matthew and Parax want to actually join the council... Nonetheless, I Support Support - and shall wait for the other members to put their say in.

-- Jeremiah Garland 20:29, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

I AM PARAX, AND I APPROVE THIS USER!--Parax 20:32, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

I spoke it over with Parax and Jim, and we agreed that having a fifth member in the council will be beneficial to balance out the odds. So looks like you're in, Jack! Except we need to wait for Blastshot and Pistol to cast their votes...

-- Jeremiah Garland 20:43, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

I agree that you would make a good addition, and what Garland said about a fifth member is a good idea. I am not going to officially agree, as I want to see Blastshot's vote, but so far I am leaning towards support. I think this should be enough for a while though, we don't want to overcrowd because then when it comes to voting/dicussions there are going to be too many people involved and things may become chaotic.

JPSig1JPSig2 This user is an Admin of Pirates Online Players Wiki

Terribly sorry, it seems our fifth member is Breasly ( thank you Matthew for forgetting to inform us ). However, although I think 5 is more than enough for now, we will keep both you and Marc in mind. Sorry about the confusion.

Fictious Countries

Hello,

Please do note that this message is not directed at any one user in particular, but rather, at a handful. This is simply a reminder of one of the rules of roleplay. Rule #6, as approved on the official Roleplay Rules page, is as follows: "We stick to how the world was in 1745. That means nations are restricted to the land they had back then". That being said, we ask that you please refrain from "inventing" countries, and claiming to rule them. If it is not located on the map, or it is a country that never existed, you may not roleplay as its leader. The reason for this being is because, simply, if we allow one to rule a country that isn't / wasn't real, there would be no limitations. By creating your own country, that means, with it, you would create your own military, etc, which tends to be overpowered and create an unfair advantage for other roleplaying nations. There are still some real nations available; just speak with me or another member of the Roleplay Council and we might help you find a country to apply for. If none of the available countries appease to you, you can always join another roleplaying country, and ask the leader if you can help rule it. But once again, I ask that you not create countries. We like to keep this wiki as realistic as possible, and creating countries is breaking the boundary. Some examples of "fake" or non-historical countries that are not recognised by the Roleplay Council (or the LIN) include: Scarletmerica, Nexia, Lone Islands, Shipratian Confederation, Confederate States of South America, United Union, and any "Pirate Republic". This list incomplete, as there are others out there.

Also, another reminder: recently and in the past, there have been people who claim titles which, although are real countries, are historically incorrect. For example, there have been many who claim to be "King/Queen/Prince/Princess of Ireland", as well as leaders of Germany. Although countries today, these lands in the year 1745 were under different domains, and therefore did not have leaders. As I said above, we try to keep things here as realistic as possible, and we ask that you respect this and uphold this policy. If you are unsure whether a place at this time is under the command of another roleplaying country, my answer for you is simple: you're on a computer. Do some research. In special cases where, historically a certain place was not under the command of a country but roleplaying on the wiki it is (e.g. Denmark being ruled by England), this is a different scenario and completely understandable. We know you are anxious to roleplay, but all we ask is for you to help keep this realistic and appropriate for the year 1745. In doing so, we are making the roleplay experience better for everybody. Thank you.

-- Jeremiah Garland 02:09, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

I agree, but look at my reply to the above request. I mentioned something about a grey area that needs considering. Perhaps when you and Matthew are both back?

Request for Italy

I, Davy Gunfish, request that Italy, formerly ruled by Captain Shadow Sail, be put under my control. Italy was ruled by Shadow Sail, then given to his heir, Cortez, who has also left, leaving nobody to rule it, so I wish to be that one.

Neutral Neutral - Going to do some research first before casting a vote.--Parax 23:05, July 28, 2012 (UTC)
Not sure on this one. Shadow is active on the game, but not so on the wiki and in roleplay. I think that he should be asked first, perhaps? I know that Cortez, followed by John is next in line for throne as well.

Application for the Roleplay Council

Dear Roleplay Council

I, Marc Cannonshot request that I join the Roleplay Council of Pirates Online Players wiki. I have been doing Role-Playing when I first came to this wiki as Governor of the British Thirteen Colonies of America and then became part of the British Parliament as Marcus Cannonshot Burgess (Marc Cannonshot) - Leader of the House of Commons.

I have served in four wars that Britain went into and those wars were Paradoxian War, Deltan War, Second Deltan War, and the war of Casa Di Royale. I have been loyal to Britain and I serve for my fellow Role-Players and for King and country. I ask the Roleplay council to accept so I may serve along with my fellow Role-Players.

The French Question

Hello all,

Through all the moving and chaos, I have been checking up on the wiki within the past hour (it's about 6 o'clock in the morning here and I have major jet lag...), and have indeed noticed the rising issue about the fate of France. Rather than continue to debate about this meaninglessly on blogs, I thought it would be a good idea to bring the discussion here, to the Roleplay Council.

On a personal note, I cannot stay for long right now. I will, however, be checking in later to see how this is going. There has been less trouble with the move as thought, and I feel I may not be inactive for as long as expected. Cyprus is... odd. It's rained nonstop for the past three days I've been here. Oh yeah, back to talking about France.

Anyhoo, I have noticed that the only two candidates that have been put forth for the French crown are Goldtimbers and Al. I have no clue what is going on with Duchess, but it is clear a new monarch must come forward. John suggested Stardust, which generally, I have no issue with. I do, however, think it would be best if we select somebody who is active on the wiki, as a monarch not on the wiki not only causes a lack of communication with their respective nation, but a lack of interaction with wiki-exclusive roleplay events, and almost seems like the nation is "wasted" (witness Duchess, who was inactive on the wiki and thus plummeted France into its current state of disruption).

Now, I have no problem with Al. He ruled Romania very well. But, (and this is just my opinion, not any sort of declaration) I honestly do not think he is qualified. He is relatively new to the wiki, and I feel the king of a nation of such prestige as France not only needs much experience on the wiki, but much experience in roleplay as well, something Al is short on. Don't get me wrong; Al is a great friend, but I feel Romania is a good fit for him. As for Goldtimbers, I honestly don't think he is fit to rule France as well. Although he is very close to the previous monarch, his high standings in the British government will cause... issues. He cannot possibly be prime minister of England, the most powerful nation on Earth, and also King of France, the second or third most powerful nation on Earth. There has to be some limitations, and he cannot choose both. It is no secret that I hold a mild dislike for Goldtimbers, but putting that aside, I also do not think he should rule France because he lacks certain characteristics needed. Yes, he is a "funny old man" and is always good for laugh, and he may be an outstanding figure in-game, but he's seldom on the wiki, and I feel if he becomes King of France, there will be too much British influence in his decision making; something we cannot have. Again, these are just my opinions.

If you were on chat twenty minutes ago, I managed to drop in on chat for a few minutes to say hello (the internet here is weird, and I may not be able to get on chat that much until the issue is resolved). While there, you may have heard me say my opinion for the King of France. A third party candidate: Benjamin Macmorgan. Now, I am not sure if Benjamin is still into all that, but I believe he is the perfect man for the job. First of all, he was King of France before (after giving the Russian crown to Mallace), and did an excellent job in that position. He put France into the light of roleplay, brought it to new heights, and ruled it in what I believe it to be its golden age, before handing it over to Duchess. Furthermore, he is a founder of roleplay, being one of the oldest and most influential roleplayers in the game: an essential for any king of a roleplay nation such as France. It is also worth mentioning his time and experience on the wiki. Although he has been inactive for some periods of time, he has been here for more than a year and was even recently honoured for his dedication by being promoted to chat moderator. Given Benjamin's approval, I officially nominate him for the position of King of France. In my eyes, he will be a definitive and outstanding leader in a position he previously (and successfully) held, and will take the job with much seriousness.

Thank you for taking this time to read. The Roleplay Council will meet and make a decision on this matter sometime in the future. On an unrelated note, I'd also like to officially recognise and inaugurate Jack Goldwrecker into the Roleplay Council, whose application was accepted by a majority amount of Roleplay Council members. Welcome to the Roleplay Council, Jack.

-- Jeremiah Garland 04:00, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you Jeremiah, I appreciate it. I would also like to say that I do agree with you on your opinion; Benjamin should rule France. Johnny Goldtimbers I think would be, actually, the worst man for the job cosindering he's the Prime Minister of Britain.

Jack Goldwrecker I am glad you put it this way Jeremiah. I se ewhere youre coming from and I understand. I respect your opinion. If neither of us become King of France, then I must say I hope Benjy does. I have to agree with alot of what you said there and you know makes me feel maybe I should follow it. I can not think of anything else to say and would rather ad dit later than sounding like a big fat idiot. RSig3Norm(talk)1 04:17, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately, as France DOES have a line of succession, it's not up to us. The first candidate would be Cadet, but he's gone. It comes down to a competition between Bluehawk and Stardust. Bluehawk, while a good leader, is inactive often, and in the past few days, has attempted to give France to not only Albert Spark, but to Switzerland as well. Stardust is not very active, but she's the only other choice. I have known Stardust since my... well, my second day of roleplay, actually. She is perfect for the job, and she was well-connected with Duchess. Being on the wiki or not does not influence the fact that a country either fails, or it doesn't. Pearson believes he has a claim to the throne, as he and Duchess were never officially divorced, but that's not how a monarchy works. A king's power will pass to his wife upon death, but not vice versa. The firstborn son would inherit the crown, and if he were dead (such as Cadet is) it would be passed through sons, and then daughters. The husband would be treated as a noble, but nothing more. A king in Spain once tried this with Mary Tudor (Bloody Mary) I believe.

In any case, the only people with claim to the throne are the children of Duchess, UNLESS she named an heir. And yes, she named Goldtimbers, who agreed to take it out of pity. But Goldtimbers has no intentions of keeping it, and we were discussing this in a Skype call today. The fact is, it comes down to one of the two children. Whichever one gains more support, I suppose. All other claims, such as Albert's, O'malley's, and Darkvane's, will only ever be approved if they battle long and hard for it.

Referring to making Benjamin "king".... he was never officially recognized by any leading nations as a king, nor by any French royalty. It was only his small throng of friends which supported him. Benjamin is inactive on the game, and honestly has no claim to the throne, as he's disliked by most of France and Spain. And I've been cautious of him after he attempted to overthrow me.

--John Breasly, Savvy Designs Member 04:19, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

I am back, and have read everythign above and as I have said before, I prefer not to put too mcuh of my interest into France and Spain. Why? Spain's "leader" is stubburn and unstable and I prefer to isolate him from my life as much as possible, and France has been under scrutiny for a while now. I think I would like to see some more opinions and perhaps do more debating before I come to my personal decision, and hopefully help France make their own. The reason I say "France make their own" is because John is quite right about it not really being up to us. We can manage roleplay on the wiki and try to do so on the game as well, but we can only manage it up to a point.

I personally do not feel that Albert is ready or capable for such a position. He is still fairly new and unknown in-game, which would put his rule under fire constantly. Goldtimbers would be great but as Guv mentioned he is the British Prime Minister, which would create a lot of conflict. If he were to retire from his role as the PM I am sure that it would be a major blow to the Empire, despite what many of you might say.

I quite like the idea of Benjamin, but the first thing I though of was that he often goes inactive for fairly lengthy periods of time and if that were to happen again it would cause major trouble, and possibly bring us back to square one. Also, as John mentioned, Ben is inactive on game and was never officially the king of France ( which I do not blame him for because of France's unique situation ).

I wouldn't say I know Stardust and Bluehawk well, but I definitely do and when I was last in contact with them they seemed like great people to me. I am not sure of their leadership capablities, but I would support them if they could not only "officially" take hold of the title, but also keep a tight rein on it and make it known that they are the ruler and not going to have their rule questioned, as I think that is the major issue with France.

Anyway, I am really not leaning towards any side at this moment, but I would prefer what is best for France, not only in terms of good leadership but also in sustainablity and stability.

Thank you for considering me, but I'm not active on the game ( I've cancelled my subscription ). And I'd rather not get involved too much in RP. Plus, there are lots of better choices then me, and I don't see myself doing much for it on the wiki since I'd kind of rather distance myself from it and focus on my duties as a chat mod and rollback, I don't want to neglect that.

Hey its me, Grunt56. I would like to know what you mean by "under dispute"
Means it is still being discussed. Try bringing up the section in case people forgot.--Parax 04:49, August 18, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, Croatia is owned by Austria, nobody can ‘claim‘ it. That's like if I were to claim Egypt, even though the Ottomans own it.

Nonexistent Nations/Available Nations

Hello. I'm writing this due to several inaccuracies with role-playing countries. They do not historically fit in with our timeline (which has been established as 1745) and thus the role-players of which must either request a different country (and yes, there are quite a few minor ones as well as several major ones) or join an already-existing nation. Okay, where to begin . . .

  1. Kalmar Union—This is the most significant out of the ones I will be listing. Although the Kalmar Union was major (consisting of Denmark, the Faroe and Shetland Islands, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, all of Scandinavia), it was indeed dissolved in 1523. And as much as it troubles me to propose this, Cad has been inactive for months now. The Kalmar Union should be taken off the RP Nations page, as it doesn't even exist. This means, ultimately, that Sweden is unclaimed.
  2. Switzerland—This has gotten to be a decent nation altogether so I do not want to see it completely fall away. I hope you do realise, though, that Switzerland did not exist yet. I think it would be best for you to find a new nation. Sweden is open, as an example, and it has more land.
  3. Italy—This is another major one. I don't know if Shadow realises or not that Italy was not one nation, but rather divided amongst many nations (until 1860). Naples & Sicily belonged to Spain (another thing I'm going to address), Sardinia was owned by Spain, Genoa was an independent state (and also owned Corsica), Central Italy (where Rome is) was independent and is where the Papal States were if I'm correct, Venice and the surrounding area was independent (and also owned Morea, west of Greece), Lombardy was owned by Spain, and Savoy (what has been established he rules in the past before he said he owned more land) was independent. It really shouldn't be on the RP Nations page as just ‘Italy‘ but rather as many different states (I.E. Savoy being shown as ruled by Shadow, Genoa by someone else, Venice by someone else, et cetera).
  4. Kingdom of Two Sicilies—This is relating to the Italy thing. It didn't exist until 1816, 71 years after the current role-play date. It really shouldn't exist in role-play, and the ruler should rule one of Italian states that exists right now, like Genoa or Venice.

To conclude this post, I'll be listing some available nations as well as the theatre they're in, their capital, religion, government type, religion, and a brief description:

•Sweden (Scandinavia)—Sweden dominates the Baltic though is at risk of attacks by the Russians. Their capital is Stockholm, obviously in Sweden. Protestant Absolute Monarchy.

•Mughal Empire (India)—I'm very surprised nobody has claimed the Mughal Empire yet. It dominated India during this time period, though were plagued by the growing Maratha Confederacy trying to convert India from Islam to Hinduism. They were hostile towards most Europeans although they did trade with them and ally with the French at certain times. Their navy is about equal to that of the Marathas. Their capital is Akbarabad, in Hindustan. Islamic Absolute Monarchy.

•Maratha Confederacy (India)—As stated above, they are growing in both size and power during this time period, and have better firearms than their Mughal rivals. They are mainly supported by the Europeans in the theatre. Their capital is Satara, in Bijapur. Hindu Absolute Monarchy.

•Mysore (India)—They weren't very large, but they did have a capable army under their command. They were closely allied with the Mughal Empire and I believe later their protectorate. Their capital is Mysore, in Mysore. Islamic Absolute Monarchy.

•Dagestan (Eastern Europe/Northwest India)—Dagestan neighboured Georgia to the North, the Persians to the South, and the Ottomans in Egypt to the East. It bordered the Caspian Sea so it was able to develop a decent navy as well as a capable army to repel possible invaders, although they were surrounded by only allies (Persia, Georgia, the Ottomans, and I believe Russia as well). Their capital is Tarki, in Chechenya-Dagestan. Islamic Absolute Monarchy.

•Persia (Eastern Europe/Northwest India)—Persia has been left alone for many years, giving it time to build up a powerful army and a strong navy. It controls Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Persia, Baluchistan, and the Khanate of Khiva (which it occupied) making it somewhat of an empire. I believe it was claimed before but the previous ruler is inactive. Several have requested Persia but I don't think anyone owns it yet. Their capital is Esfahan, obviously in Persia. Islamic Absolute Monarchy.

•Westphalia (Western Europe)—Though they own only Rhineland, their military is decent as it consists partially of Jaegers. They are near Hesse and don't have many allies, but do get a decent income due to trade. Their capital is Rhineland, obviously in Westphalia. Catholic Absolute Monarchy.

•Holy Roman Empire (Western Europe-Eastern Europe)—This is a big one as well. Although the Holy Roman Empire is beginning to decline at this time, it is still very powerful and controls a great deal of land. Nobody has requested this yet. Their capital is not specified, although it switched between Frankfurt and Regensburg. Catholic Absolute Monarchy.

•Genoa (Southwestern Europe)—Genoa has a capable military and two territories—Liguria and Corsica—as well as a decent navy. Their capital is obviously Genoa, in Liguria. Catholic Republic.

•Venice (Southeastern Europe)—Venice is one of the strongest Italian states, as they defeated the Ottoman Empire in the Morean War. They own two regions—Venetia and Morea—and their capital is obviously Venice, in Venetia. Catholic Republic.

The "nonexistent" nations were created in RP and put on the wiki prior to the rule that had people stick to the timeline. Per the ex post facto rule, they're allowed to stay.--Parax 19:44, September 20, 2012 (UTC)
Is Persia available for grabs? I might be interested in owning something a bit more significant than Indonesia, and the warm Persian weather would do nicely for drying off my world dominant clones of Hermit I mean, err.. my coat and hat, :P GoldvaneSig 20:18, September 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yes I believe so, but if you're going to claim it could you make the page for it serious? There are others asking for it and they'll most likely choose you if you research Persia and take it seriously.

JarDUtchSig

Yeah, I could take it seriously. I might have gone overboard with Indonesia. But, if others really want it, I don't want to be a party pooper and take it from them. Who else is trying to get it? GoldvaneSig 20:40, September 20, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, nobody, because apparently the person trying to get it just abandoned their request.

JarDUtchSig

Mughal Empire

I was actually thinking of claiming the Mughal Empire, because we were literally dissecting it last week in AP World... However, I didn't know it was still up for grabs. So, make up your minds quickly, loves. I can has or not? :P

Cher Bear =D (talk) 20:12, September 20, 2012 (UTC)

Well, I'm not part of the role-play council, so I don't really have authority to give it to you, but do some research on it and you'll most likely be accepted. You'll have to get a role-play name in Persian though :P

JarDUtchSig

Sure, why not? Support Support - not because she's my friend, but because she seems to have some good intentions and a reasonable amount of knowledge concerning it.--Parax 19:06, September 25, 2012 (UTC)

Request: The Holy Roman Empire

250px-Holy Roman Empire ca.1600

The Holy Roman Empire at its peak

220px-HRR

Holy Roman Empire AD 962 - AD 1806

I, Grunt56, would like to request ownership of the lands of the Holy Roman Empire. Even though this is a very influentual nation in this time period nobody has claimed it! Although it began to decline around 1400th century I believe in the current role-playing year it still holds land roughly the size of the France. Maybe smaller? I am not completely sure. I believe two major states within the Empire were Prussia (Not completely sure) and Austria, with various other smaller states. I have been on the wiki for about a year with really nothing to edit. I believe this would be a great change for me as it would get me more active on the wiki and on the game, Which will give me something to do in my spare time (Which I have alot of since I don't have any extracurricular activities for a couple months xD). Plus having to learn about the Holy Roman Empire will help me in history, since we are studying it right now. Well that is all I can really say for now, Goodbye.

William (Grunt) Daggersteel

Also, I dont want people to think I'm a power hungry fool who is just requesting this because Jarod mentioned it. I have long known of its existence and contemplated requesting it before. But at the time it seemed to complicated as it is composed of independant states.

I know for a fact Austria and Prussia weren't part of it. I believe it owned various other German states, like Württemburg, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, Hannover, and some others.

JarDUtchSig18:20, September 25, 2012 (UTC) Samuel Harrington is the ruler from what I last heard, though I could be wrong. Nonetheless, The Holy Roman Empire consists of countries that are taken by ppl leaving it at it being absolutely nothing. There are, however, many German Kingdoms, rather small, but Kingdoms nonetheless.

RSig3Norm(talk)1 18:40, September 25, 2012 (UTC)

I know for a fact Austria and Prussian were the leading nations in The Holy Roman Empire. It did consist of many smaller German nations as you said.

Here are some of the known states in 1789

  • Habsburg Monarchy (Basically Austria)
  • Kingdom of Prussia
  • Duchy of Wurttemburg
  • Duchy of Mecklenburg-Shwerin
  • Electorate of Brandenburg
  • Electorate of Bavaria
  • Electorate of Saxony
  • Electorate of Hanover
  • Bishopric of Münster
  • Many smaller states

William (Grunt) Daggersteel

WELL, where to begin. At this time 1739 - 1748 We are in the War of Austrian Succession which yes would be make the HRE spot open... funny how this month we got a new Holy Roman Emperor :P BUT Either way according to History.. the spouse of Maria Theresa AKA Hannah Bluefeather is the new Holy Roman Emperor. SO idk it is atm. Well funny thing is, Matthew Darkskull and Hannah got divorced last year and married Jason Foulvane so... Yeah. Most spouses of countries are not connected but the HRE is linked with whoever married Hannah. Not trying to burst your bubble but Maria is the supposed Consort of the HRE but in reality she made her husband Franny :P Co-Regent... because well a lot of people didn't like having a Holy Roman Empress ^_^

Test

Well, From my point of view it looks like your saying the position is taken. So this was a waste of my time xD. We should really start to clearly address peoples positions.

Also I really need to change my signature. Can someone inform me on how to do this?

William (Grunt) Daggersteel

@Grunt: Yes I know Prussia and Austria were part of it, but they were independent states and are already claimed. Saxony and Courland are protectorates of Poland-Lithuania, which is a protectorate of Russia in RP so unsure on that matter . . . Brandenburg belonged to Preußen (Prussia) when they merged to from Brandenburg-Prussia and later just Prussia. Bavaria was independent right now, because if I'm correct it was not part of it anymore (besides it is already ruled by Jack Pistol). Just a few corrections.

@GOldtimbers: I know the War of Austrian Succession was taking place at this time which would mean it's historically open . . . Though I guess it's taken? Idk.

JarDUtchSig

Jarod, get on James Swordwrecker.

PencilDutchRPSig 22:45, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

I know Austria and Prussia are claimed but the thing about the Holy Roman Empire is that it is not a single state like most countries in this time. It is composed of various states with their own monarch. This is why it didn't have its own military and why the Emporer didn't have full power of his country. Just because Austria and Prussia are claimed does not mean the aren't apart of it, And Austria should actually be reffered as a Archduchy. And the current leader would be the Archduke/Archduchess.

William (Grunt) Daggersteel

Here's the thing... The Holy Roman Empire, as every good school boy knows, was neither "Holy", nor "Roman", nor an "Empire". The HRE is not a country, but rather a large religious coalition, per se. Yes, The HRE did indeed include countries such as Prussia and Austria (as well as the mentioned Germanic kingdoms), but each of those countries had their own leader. The Holy Roman Emporer had absolutely little to no say in political matters when it came to these countries; he was simply a religious leader chosen by the Pope. So, I'd have no trouble with you being the Holy Roman Emperor, but do know that this is merely a title. You have very little say in anything that is secular, and are simply a religious leader. You'd own no land to call your own, and you'd have no army.

-- Jeremiah Garland

Well actually it did have somewhat of a Military, But it was dissolved even before the Empire itself was Dissovled. Know in German as Riechsarmee, Reichsheer or Riecharmatur. In English its basically called the Army of the Holy Roman Empire. It was created in 1422 during the Hussite Wars. It was composed of contributions of men by their various states. In 1661 the compisition of the army was finally determined. Containing 40,000 men, with 28,000 being infantry and 12,000 being cavalry that included 2,000 mounted Dragoons. In emergencies the total number of men could be increased.

I also heard something about the Emperors Imperial Army, Which participated in the 30 Years War instead of the Riechsarmee, But I couldn't find any information about it.

William (Grunt) Daggersteel

I want Ponyland. Nao.

Rule Adding Request: Formal Applications required for leadership.

Hello all-

I guess you could consider this not a formal? rule but more so guidelines to follow when applying for leadership of a country. To many times I find short applications such as "I ruled this place, i did ok, now i want this place." For one, that makes you seem a bit ignorant.. but back to the point. I feel short apps such as those don't give us the true feel of the person. And that is one of the points of this council, is it not? To select and assign historically accurate, fit, appropriate and successsful leaders to countries based on background checks and historical availability? I request that we create a formal template for an application that will go in-depth in reasoning and experience, and require the requesting "leader" to think a bit. Once-sentence long applications don't necessarily give us what we want- to truly know the person and how fit he/she is. An Example Application (This is not nearly official, just to give councilmembers an idea of what I am proposing.)

What former experience of roleplay do you hve?

Why is your selected country signifigant to you?

Have you ever held any royal titles in any other countries?

What would be the first act you would do as leader?

How do you believe you can make your nation successful? Do you have a plan, or things you want to change/keep the same?

And Finally...

What is your stance on Spain (We all know we have to ask. It'll come up eventually, and we don't want trouble.)

Thanks for taking the time to read this, it is much appreciated. I would love other councilmen and public opinion and/or approval. --Councilman Mallace

RP Request: The Order of Chaos

I wish to start an order similiar to Bill and Bobbys Societys called the Order of Chaos, dedicated to taking over the worlds through slavery and black magic, along with advanced technology! it will be based on an anknown isle in the North sea called Cadia Del Evil, thank you,

~Lord Kreonen of Chaos~

You can by all means form a group however you cannot create a country. As for the topics of slavery and advanced technology tread carefully. Slavery can be an iffy subject and we have wiki wide restrictions on how far technology can go.

Growth of the Genoese Republic

The Republic of Genoa and Venice have long been enemies, considering the mulitple wars they fought against each other. It would seem logical that one would adventually declare war again and conquer the other. Perhaps some alternate history could occur in which Genoa conquers the Venetians.

Genoa would basically recieve the regions of...

  • Venetia
  • Istria
  • Dalmazia
  • Durazzo
  • Corfu
  • Ionio

- Joseph Coalsmythe

Personally, I see no problem with this. However, you might anger Austria, as they have numerous times claimed Venice and Dalmatia in particular.

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 18:19, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, thank you for responding to my request. Now I will wait for the other council members to write down their opinions.

- Joseph Coalsmythe  Honestly I feel like you are not very happy with Genoa after a few days. To me it is starting to look like Power Hunger is eating you up. It reminds me of my faults trying to obtain other land than Romania when I first started. I advise you not to attempt and stick with the current land you have as I did. Grow your country and such. EmpReflecTalkReflecBlogsReflecCountryReflec 20:26, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, but this is actually a very logical claim. You can look up the Genoese-Venetian Wars online and find plenty of results, It was a series of four wars which proved to be a indesicive victory for both sides. I just thought that one side could infact conquer the other, and the Republic of Venice has yet to be claimed. Anyway, I do not want to start a arguement with you.

- Joseph Coalsmythe

I agree with bost Jerry and Sunshine. It seems to me like only days after your inaguration, you are now wanting more lands, which to me is unnacceptable. Jerry also stated that other nations may be infuriated by this action. That being said, and with my judgement, I must vote Oppose Oppose - to this motion.

Can I have a list of avaliable nations? Gamer124 (talk) 18:07, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Gamer124,

Although there is no definite list of available nations, I can tell you some that are currently available that I know of:

  • Maratha Confederacy (India)
  • Mughal Empire (India)
  • Joseon Empire (Korea; not certain if this has been claimed yet)
  • Kingdom of Vientiane (Laos)
  • Hanthawaddy Kingdom (Burma)

...That's about all I can think of presently, though I'm sure there are more. Unfortunately, just about all of Europe has been claimed, and there's really no countries there to claim. All the ones I mentioned above are all Asian, and are pretty much cut off from the rest of the world. That being said, you can always join another country, if you so desire. Hope this clears things up.

Cheers,

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 18:18, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Is their anybody that has not done a good job that you can make me leader of? If not can I make a apllication for Burma?Gamer124 (talk) 18:28, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Well there is no country worth time on POTCO, as the asian countries aren't in the Caribbean, but you can join Switzerland. :D We have changed the government and fired pretty much everyone, so there are good high positions open. :D If you're interested, please leave me a message on my talk page.

Quick correction. The Mughal Empire and Maratha Confederacy were conquered by the British. As for removing a leader, that cannot but done. You can by all means fill out an application and hope to be accepted.

Burma

Where do I apply? Oh yeah sorry

Dear Role Playing Council,

I apply to be leader of Burma. I have some exprience from my own country that I guess can't be official on the wiki. I am a great leader and will fufill any responsibility you give me. I will only declare war if necessary. I will make Burma in the top countries on the planet. We will most likely ask to be in The United Alliances of The Caribbean . Burma will be the best it has been when I take office.

As a member of the RP Council, I Oppose Oppose -. I have seen how you acted; you just want power, and have shown ever since day 1 that you're not mature enough. Because of this, I do not see you to be fit for a ruling title in roleplay. Again, I Oppose Oppose -.--Parax 19:57, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Parax all you do is try to delete and mess up my pages. you always try to find something against it. I never heard that rule. Actually I prefer a council as shown on many pages. I want power to show a good goverment not just to be a person that makes everybody their slaves. I let everybody pick their jobs in my army [ even though I badly need another secret service agent. ] Also maybe the admins should be more of a council then just some people who can go and say a single thing saying it's against the rules and deleting it instead they should talk to each other about it. It's like the admins just want power. Parax all you do is watch for me to make a page and find some way to delete it with a "reason". Gamer124 (talk) 20:01, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, first of all, how the hell does my deletion of your page—which was against the rules—have any relevance to your request? No, I don't "watch for you", it's simply that nearly everything you do here is against the rules, and thus I have a reason to put down said offenses. As for this vote, my opinion is mine. If you don't like me opposing your little request, then don't make it. Not everyone is going to support you.--Parax 20:11, December 1, 2012 (UTC)

What the hell are you talking about? You are just being a total piece of lard. You, once again, have contradicted yourself again. PARAX. IS AN ADMINISTRATOR OF THE SITE. There were no "secret service agents" in this time. By the way, your idiocy provokes my vote for you when you turn "36"

I made my own secret service agency. Not for America. You have to be at least 36 to be president so your the one with idiocy.

Off Topic- Sorry but can the admins of this page please vote on my Unification of Polynesia? - Marc Cannonshot

I also Oppose Oppose - for various reasons. For one, you did not prove to us you have a basic knowledge of the country you are requesting and its history (it wasn't even called Burma yet). Also, as Parax said, it seems you are simply looking for power. Before you go off claiming countries, I advise that you spend some time on the wiki and in the roleplay realm, and gain our respect. That way, we will know when you are capable of ruling a country, rather than you simply telling us you're "a good leader".

On a side note, please do not attack admins when you've been on this wiki a limited amount of time and don't have a thorough understanding of everything. It's sort of obnoxious when users like you show up, think they know everything and everyone on the wiki, act like they're big shots, and that start insulting others, especially admins. I advise you give this a rest, and maybe try again some time in the future.

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 02:15, December 2, 2012 (UTC)

I also Oppose Oppose - making this a majority of oppose and thereby/denied. Calling Our friend parax "lard" really hasn't helped your chances, and I glad to say that giving you leadership of a country would not be a wise decision.

Admittance Application: G-man.

Alrighty boyz and girls, this is my application, it's an application, don't freak out about it.

I'll just start off by listing my qualifications.

  • Titles: King and Grand Duke of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Prime Minister of China and Malta (annexed into the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth), Minister of Finance in the Russian Imperial Court, Hazarapatish of Persia, former Emperor of Japan, former Emperor of China, former Prime Minister of Japan, and former Prince of Spain.
  • I have been on this wiki since April 3, 2011 on this account and have been role-playing for, well, I can't remember, it's been a while. I've been role-playing for as long as I can remember, my start being in Great Britain. I've assumed many other titles and ranks after that, some of those unrealistic, but I have put that past me.
  • I am a chat moderator and rollback on this wiki.
  • I took over Co. Rangers after Pearson left the guild.
  • I've created 2 guilds for Poland-Lithuania; I am still in the process of growing them.
  • I have taken over The Complex and am reforming it into a Polish-Lithuanian guild.
  • I've created many guilds for Japan such as Silent Retribution and The Divine Wind, the latter I have converted into a Polish-Lithuanian guild.
  • I am extremely active on the wiki and in role-playing.

I have role-played for many countries, and have role-played as far back as I can remember. I am knowledgeable in world history and politics; on another note I can be immature at some times, but can't we all? Yes, in the past I have been "noobish" in role-playing, forming nations that did not exist at the time and claiming false titles, but I have put that behind me and hope that you will too.

For now, I am Neutral Neutral - it is nothing against you, G-Man, it's the fact of having seven people in the council seems like a bit too much. I thought five was ideal, and iffy on six as that elimated the odd number factour. I'll have to think about this a little more. Excellent application, nonetheless.

Council Member Removal Request: Jack Goldwrecker

In all honesty, I really hate writing this and I wish I wouldn't. However, I feel something must be done about the growing interest in the Roleplay Council and its admittance policy.

First off, let it be known that this is not meant to cause any offense towards Jack. He has done nothing wrong. I do feel, however, that his interest in the Roleplay Council is very limited. He has shown a lack of participation, even when encouraged to reply to votes or requests. Furthermore, besides filling a few lower-ranking positions in various countries, he isn't that into roleplay itself. Jack is a great guy, but I'm just not sure if he's interested in this anymore.

While also he never fully submitted an official application, there are other roleplayers who have filled out membership applications and are eager to join.

I will speak to Jack about this matter one-on-one, and see if he'd like to participate in the council any longer. If he says no, then we will remove him from the council and perhaps find a roleplayer to fill his spot. If he says yes, yet continues to neglect taking part in votes, we'll also hold a vote to remove him. We'll just see how this plays out. For the time being, however, I request that no new roleplayers be granted membership until we figure this out. I highly request that we keep the membership limit to six, which may be changed in the future.

In short, I feel that Jack has fallen behind on roleplay matters, and after scanning the page, hardly see any participation from him. Meanwhile, there are other eager roleplayers who wish to join the council and are willing to participate. Members, please vote and discuss below on what you think of this matter.

Cheers,

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 22:28, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Definitely an obvious matter. I am Neutral Neutral - towards the removal, only because I feel if we give him warning, he could still be valuable. If he does not wish to participate, I am leaning towards support.

On the other hand, I Support Support - the 6 people limit for 1 reason. IN fact, i support it being even in any event. Heres why. If we were to have an odd number of councilmen, then yes, every problem would be sorted out had a vote come down to a near tie. However, if we keep it at 6, there is a possibility for a direct tie. This tie, then, could be taken to an administrative vote- which I feel, if councilmembers truly can't decide on a matter, would be approrpriate. Any vote that wins only by a margin of 1 councilmember may be highly debatable.

The roleplayersTalk

Eh, Neutral Neutral - I don't think we really need him out. I'll ponder on this, but I think things are fine as they are.

Reformed Voting System

So, there's been talk recently about how the RP Council should set their voting system. There isn't anything "wrong" with the way we do it now, per se, but I feel it can be improved. I've come up with two systems we could go by, depending on how many people we have in our council.

I ask everybody (not just council members) to read my proposals and respond with which they prefer, or, any suggestions of critique. I'd like this vote to be a public vote, as it will, obviously, mostly affect the roleplay public and it's only appropriate they get a say. Also do note, both proposals are subject to doctoring.

First Method: If there are an even number of council members (preferably six)

  • When a request is made, all council members have a maximum of two weeks to respond with their vote.
  • Each council member must vote "support" or "oppose"; voting "neutral" implies that you need time to consider the request, but does not count as a legitimate vote.
  • If two weeks have passed and not all council members have submitted a vote, the side with the most votes wins (e.g., if two members vote "support" and one member votes "oppose", "support" wins).
  • If two weeks have passed and not all council members have submitted a vote and the votes are tied (e.g., two members have voted "support" and two members have voted "oppose"), either one of the remaining council members who have not voted are immediately contacted to give the deciding vote. If the remaining members who have not voted are unavailable, a willing, third-party, randomly-selected admin (one who is not an RP council member) is chosen to decide the vote.
  • Since there are an even number of members, and thus an even number of votes, there is the possibility of a tied vote (three "supports" and three "opposes"). In this case, a willing, third-party, randomly-selected admin (one who is not an RP council member) is chosen to decide the vote.
  • If a request goes two weeks without a single vote, it is disregarded, but may be re-requested again in the future.
  • Requests that have been requested in the past and were either opposed or already passed, are disregarded.
  • Alternatively to the third-party admin deciding tied votes, one member of the RP Council is voted on amongst the council members to hold the title "Speaker of the Council" (council members may not vote for themselves). The speaker's job, as opposed to the other five council members, is to be the deciding voter in tied votes. Whoever may be the speaker always votes last in requests for this reason. He/she is also responsible for prompting all other members to submit their votes when a request has been made. The term length of the speaker is yet to be decided.

Second Method: 'If there are an odd number of council members (preferably five or seven)

  • When a request is made, all council members have a maximum of four weeks to respond with their vote.
  • Each council member must vote "support" or "oppose"; voting "neutral" implies that you need time to consider the request, but does not count as a legitimate vote.
  • If four weeks have passed and not all council members have submitted a vote, the side with the most votes wins (e.g., if two members vote "support" and one member votes "oppose", "support" wins).
  • Since there are an odd number of members, and thus an odd number of votes, there is no possibility of a tied vote, given all members have voted by the end of four months.
  • If four months is up and not all members have voted, but there is a tied vote, either of the remaining members who have not voted are immediately prompted to submit their vote. If they are unavailable, a willing, third-party, randomly-selected admin (one who is not an RP council member) is chosen to decide the vote.
  • If a request goes four weeks without a single vote, it is disregarded, but may be re-requested again in the future.
  • Requests that have been requested in the past and were either opposed or already passed, are disregarded.

Heavily Support Support -- I will want the final draft once we have our final councilment within the few weeks (G-man app is up, as well and the GOldrwecker removal), Either way- I support a speaker title over a random admin. I vote Garland for the Speaker.

The roleplayersTalk

I Support Support - but not without some queries. I shall number them so you can respond appropriately, and others can comment on them as well.

  1. I think that in the event of a tie after the voting time period has ended and not all Councillors have voted, alll members who did not vote must be contacted and asked to vote, within a time period of say 48 hours (subject to change). If they both voted and their is still a tie after 48 hours we can do the random admin voter (or perhaps ask all of them, to be fair, as one can be chosen that is almost assured to lean either way in favour of the chosing councillors vote) or we could ask the people on the waiting list (instead of a random user) or we go with your alternative method. If only one voted within the 48 hours, their vote decided it and the other unavailable member will no longer have the chance to vote. If neither votes, then we do the external voter thing.
  2. I don't think opposed requests should be disregarded. Perhaps we could have a rule for a time limit between which the same user can re-request an unpassed vote. We could also restrain the same user from re-requesting unpassed votes. For example, Albert cannot keep re-requesting the rule of a small Italian state, but Blastshot can (after a certain amount of time since Albert's vote ended that perhaps).
  3. I don't think the Speaker would need to vote last, sure that could help with tie-breakers, but then the Speaker, who I imagine would be well-suited and therefore valid and needed input, would not voice their opinion until the vote ends. If there is a tie, rather give the Speaker the oppurtunity to reconsider their vote and make the final decision, if we do go this route.
  4. Just curious, why is their a longer voting period for odd numbers of council members?

That is it :P

I prefer the second method.  There should be no possibility for the two "sides," two have it even.

I Support Support - both ways, it would be illogical to exclude to well thought out ideas that could be merged.

The Illusive Man

Country Request: Nepal

Hello, members of the Roleplay Council. After searching throughout the internet to see what areas of the world are unclaimed at this point in roleplay, I’ve found that the country of Nepal, a land-locked country located in South Asia, is unclaimed at this point. After confronting Parax with this, he confirmed my finding, stating that Nepal is, in fact, unclaimed by anybody else at this period in time. It is for this reason that I’d like to claim Nepal and form an empire.

Though upon reflecting my history involving this wiki and roleplay in general, I realize that I don’t have as much experience as many others in the past who have claimed countries have, but I don’t believe this should serve as a deterrent for allowing me to take Nepal. My experience includes a tenure as the Head of Affairs for France under Benjamin Macmorgan (though this was later brought to my attention that Macmorgan’s claim to the throne was false) and a short tenure as a foot soldier for an EITC guild (which I believe in the Co. Empire, though I’m not sure), also led by Benjamin Macmorgan.

Even though I realize that the experience I’ve had in the roleplay world is rather little compared to the experience of many others, I say with great confidence that I believe I can lead Nepal well, perhaps even expand in the future, and become a respected member of the roleplay community. Regardless if you accept my request or not, I appreciate that this has been read.

Signed, Nults McKagan

Support Support - RP experience, intelligent user (something that definitely helps…), unclaimed territory, and it will allow him to start small and expand.--Parax 16:36, December 16, 2012 (UTC)

Support Support - Thou could definately handle it, no doubt about that. I approve. Jack Goldwrecker

Nepal as of now (Rp time) isn't unified into any nation. The Kingdon of Nepal was founded in the 1760s, and the area of Nepal in 1745 is probably just filled with Indian tribes and clans.

Support Support - You seem eligible. The only thing worrying me is the existance of Nepal. I also saw that it is a bit later than the current RP time, but otherwise I am fine with this.

JPSig1JPSig2 This user is an Admin of Pirates Online Players Wiki

Well, it seems my vote would be superfluous considering you already have a majority for support! Even still, I also Support Support - as you have had quaint RP experience and are definitely capable. As Jack said, the timeline as to Nepal becoming a unified kingdom seems to be off 20 or 30 years from the current roleplay year (1745), but, as we do with so many other minor inaccuracies in roleplay, it can be easily overlooked and not be a problem. Remember, as I told you in chat, Nepal is indeed a landlocked, isolated central Asian kingdom. Therefore, keep it subtle. I know you won't do this, but don't come across as being a powerhouse in the roleplay world, making blogs titled "NEPAL DECLARZ WAR ON PORCHUGAL N WE BOM THEM" or stuff like that... As Par said, start small (as Nepal is), and of course, it'll be interesting to see Nepal grow over time.

That being said, congratulations to Nults McKagan, hereby declared first king of Nepal, and to Nepal's official recognistion by the Roleplay Council!

Cheers,

The Kingdom of Mysore.

Alright, I have been on this Wiki for awhile and have been inactice for awhile. Now that I have returned I have decided to request a country for me. Seeing as almost all of the European nations have been claim, I have decided to request one from India. To be more specific I am requesting ownership of the Kingdom of Mysore. It was a independent state in lower India from 1399-1947. Lasting approximately 500 years even with constant English attacks. I believe I have enough rp experience to be the Maharaja of Mysore, serving as a General in the British East India Co. for a time, then returning as a Captain. I am also the Secretary of the Admiraly for Genoa. Anyways, I hope me request will get accepted :P

 Grunt

So what exactly is sore of yours? You should have it checked out.

All joking aside, I'll need more time to think about it. For now, Neutral Neutral - will probably have a definite answer in by tomorrow.

Removal of Ryan and Hannah Blademonk from all of their monarchy countries.

Obviously, they are claiming other countries for power. They almost never go on, do not have anything close to an army, and basically feed off of the British-guilds. I'd like to see everyones opinion on this, therefore, I shall create a poll for the non-members of the council but are active with RP.

Lord Blake UNKG0001 The RP Council I do not believe has the power to do this, but, if they do, I believe only Ryan should be punished due to the fact Hannah in many of the disputes doesn't even want the land, this displayed especially alot in the Bohemian War Scene, she in reality did not care while Robert said Austria wanted it. Just because Ryan does some things doesnt mean she approve sof them, alot of things she doesnt even know about and is not her fault. I believe if anything we should help the Austrian Queen do he rjob more efficiently and make sure cases like Bohemia dont happen again and we dont have Power Hungry people, like Ryan manipulating her. We need to help put in advusors or something of the sort. I believe the Councilors should consider this.

EmpReflecTalkReflecBlogsReflecCountryReflec 01:28, December 18, 2012 (UTC)

UH.. I would suggest asking an Admin who oversee's the council before posting a rude poll such as this. Non only because it is rude, but also, i don't know our stance on what can be created/who can create polls. The roleplayersTalk

lolnope--Parax 01:31, December 18, 2012 (UTC)

I object! You call someone trying to claim countries when there is a popular vote? And people are voting for him? He is a Governor in many different lands of the British Empire. And forth he included them. Ryan himself is kind of clueless to what has happen over the year. New Role-play rules, acts, laws, etc, etc. You cannot just penalise him for his lack of Knowledge of the current events. I apologise for saying this about Ryan but he is clueless to all this. Before yes... countries were most like regular modern day countries and there was little to nothing stopping others from claiming colonies. Ryan Blademonk is a loyal member of the British Army and his marriage to The Arch-Duchess of Austria doesn't affect that. He wants to have the best interests for his wife's country. That's perfectly fine. You are all overrating because he was in a Election (meaning people VOTE for someone) and claimed countries that we addressed. That to me isn't power hunger. It's just a lack of knowledge that you cannot just go to the extreme to propose to remove BOTH Hannah and Ryan's titles.

Now on to Hannah (Maria Theresa). She is the complete opposite of a corrupt, tyrant. She is a sweet, kind heated young lady who wouldn't even dare declare War on someone or try to con anyone out of anything. She hasn't been on the wiki because she herself feels you are all corrupt, country grabbing monkeys. Her examples (Mallace's Claim for Spain, The German nonsense (I'll get to that later) and the nonsense about her not being on the wiki that often. She plays the game like 4 - 6 days of the week. That is impressive for any role-play Ruler. She is active on the game and is still legitimately the Arch-Duchess of Austria and to what she was before, Holy Roman Empress (War of Austrian Succession). Recently Blastshot being Prussia had to stir trouble up with his power hungry concerns of expanding Prussia. He demanded Hannah give half of Bohemia (A land that the British returned back to her control). Hannah then jokingly said she wanted Hungary (She knew Maria Theresa/Habsburg Empire had Hungary at this time). I then knowing this wouldn't end with a peaceful solution kindly advised her to cut all negotiations with him. She did to maintain the peace. She is not like anyone of you.... "People".  I would declare her a Saint if I could. She stays out of wars, arrangement's and focuses heavily on her own family (Being unfortunately for a time Pears). But for that. The British defeated the Spanish for control of Austria to be given back to Hannah. So it happen.

Finally, in what right or power do you have to declare such? You have no armies to enforce this. And she or Ryan have done completely nothing to even go to this extent. I demand this be said! I say this not being Hannah's Grandfather but I want to make sure you people know the true heart and kind being of Hannah and the clueless (Again sorry Ryan) and ill educated on recent events Ryan.

Questions December 2012

Dear Role-Play Council, I am not here to claim land, but to ask a few questions:

  • Hesse's Monarch seems to be inactive, whats going on with them?
  • Malta is gone so arent they unclaimed again?
  • Whats going on with Italy AKA Savoy?

I believe these are all questions everyone will wonder when they think about it, and believe should be asked and see what should be done. Regards,

EmpReflecTalkReflecBlogsReflecCountryReflec 06:18, December 26, 2012 (UTC)

Al, thanks for the great questions. Let's see here...

  • I was completely oblivious that Hesse was a claimed nation; all this time I thought it was unclaimed and up for grabs. Upon further research, I did see that User:James of England claimed it back in June, just before the founding of the Roleplay Council. Since he did indeed claim it before the Council, I suppose he is the legitimate ruler. Now, as for his inactivity, we've yet to establish a stable inactive policy. I'll put this question on hold and discuss this with the others so we can indeed put down a formal inactivity statement. Seeing his last edit was more than a month ago, I would say he is inactive, but we'll discuss this before jumping to a conclusion.
  • Seeing as User:BohemianKing did indeed destroy all claims to rulership of Malta, it is currently up for grabs. I'll be putting together a list of available unclaimed nations soon, and I'll be sure to include Malta in there. As per policy, though, we want a roleplayer who currently does not own a country to get a chance to claim Malta, before other countries swoop in and take it.
  • Italian roleplay on this wiki is just like a dish at the Olive Garden: no matter what you get, it's one big greasy mess. We've never been too clear on Italy's stance in roleplay at this time period, given historically it was a mess as well. That being said, Italy is just another thing on the long list of things to discuss amongst myself and my fellow councilmen, granted we will nonetheless strive to do so. Upon looking at the Role-Playing Nations page, it seems that Savoy is indeed registered as a country, but without a formal leader. Unless somebody can step forward exhibiting proof that Savoy is in fact their country, it will be deemed available for claim and be placed on the same aforementioned list. As for the rest of Italy: Coalsmythe owns Genoa; Shadow-Sail claims ownership of Tuscany and Lombardy (though this is in question, given Shadow-Sail is very inactive); the Papal States, Florence, and the middle kingdoms are currently under dispute given the recent downfall of Philip V of Spain; and Naples/Sicily is, best to my understanding, claimed by Ben Squidskull, though there is also uncertainty surrounding this. As I said, Italy is a mess, and we will get it figured out.

Hope that answers some of your questions!

Cheers,

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 06:52, December 26, 2012 (UTC)

In the case of Malta, G-man was the next person in line for power. With BK's leave, it was annexed by G-man.--Parax 19:43, December 26, 2012 (UTC)

SvS Rules

Hello my friends. I request that the leaders/owners of this RP Council create a page or topic for SvS Rules and things regarding it!

DarksteelSig DarksteelSig2

HI Jack.

That is a somewhat shaky subject. We do mention in our rules that the only way to challenge/take leadership of a country from another (at least one of the ways) is a legitiamte, in game battle, however setting rules on this would never be agreed upon by all users. If you want to establish rules for a certain game, you should talk to the opposing side before a battle. Sven would be one to maybe talk to. For setting up wiki/game-wide rules, I'll wait for other councilmen input, but i am not very positive it would be a productive move... The roleplayersTalk

My Application to join the Roleplay Council

I, Voxelplox, would like to join the Roleplaying Council mainly because I myself am interesting in Roleplay, and honestly would love to be apart of the team here. For a long time, I myself have talked about that this wiki needs to be better organized, and that we need a council to manage Roleplay. I am not active in Roleplay anymore, but I still am interested in it, and would like to help the roleplay council.

Reasons why I should be in the council are..

  • Have been in the game since late 08
  • Been in the earliest EITC guilds, such as EITC Elites, with Pablo Swordmaster, and Poseidon, Chris Mchayes,
  • Started my own guild, The Co. Empire which had 500 members, and was the first Roleplay guild I can proudly say.
  • Started the United Empire guild, which had 500 members, and was more organized then the Co.
  • Did I mention I started the Co Empire when I was only level 15?
  • I claimed the throne of Russia when I was on this wiki, and organized it to the best of my ability..
  • Also I designed the RP council main page :)
  • I'm a respected member of this community, and have been a longtime rollback and chat moderator.

These reasons show that I understand roleplay. Over time on this wiki, I have seen it first hand. Early on in the wiki, roleplay was uncontroled, unorganized. Anyone could claim anything, it was chaotic. I applaud the Roleplaying Council for being able to start steering Roleplay in the right direction, and I hope we can go further then that, and solve many problems together.

Thank you,

Voxelplox Ƭalk {{{1}}}px

Hmm... This is a tough decision. Given your legendary roleplay background, I would definitely say you'd be an ideal member for the Council. I only have two concerns, though. 1) The Council is already full and adding anymore people would be too much. However, we have been talking about cutting a few members. 2) If you can stay active for a while :P

Other than that, I Support Support -

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 01:18, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

I'll be around, just not as much during the week. But I'll still be here

Voxelplox Ƭalk {{{1}}}px

Neutral Neutral - for now. I agree that you are an experienced roleplayer, however you have been very inactive of late and there is no way you can guarantee that this will end, which I understand. We also have a decent waiting list for people who would like to join, so this will have to be considered.

I understand your concern with inactivity.. I'm trying hard to stay active here, and I can assure you I'll be more active then previously. Also, I cant say im entirely inactive when I am, I do still read through the seven seas court and in this case, I would read through the RP council, if I was inactive.

The Kingdom of Savoy

After learning of Great Britain's control of India I'm sure most of the Councilmembers know my request for Mysore is not valid. As Jeremiah said, Someone needs to step up and claim the throne of Savoy. So, I guess I'm going to try and be that person. I believe I can be a suitable leader for this country because of the following reasons.

  • I'm 63% Italian
  • I have Role-play experience in the British Empire.
  • I have been on the Wiki for a year.
  • I have been invovled with Role-play for multiple years.
  • I believe I will be able to create a proper military for this country.
  • I believe I will be able to make alliances with countrys such as: Great Britain, Genoa.
  • I will be able to get on the game.

Well, I hope people will read this and leave their responses.

I SUPPORT FOR THE REASONS STATED BY G-MAN!
- Doge Giuseppe Giacomo Ermmano of Genoa
Shadow-Sail has been deemed inactive from the wiki, as his last edits were about five months ago. Therefore, as per our inactive policy, his unexcused inactivity means his roleplay land is no longer under his possession. As for G-Man, even if you do hold the title of Grand Duke of Tuscany, Savoy is not included in Tuscany; Tuscany is an Italian kingdom due north of Rome, about half way down the Italian Peninsula, and includes the city of Florence; Savoy, on the other hand, is in the extreme northwest corner of Italy, along the French and Swiss border. It is currently unclaimed.

Grunt, considering you've had a decent roleplay background, experience on the wiki, and other reasons you listed, I Support Support - you become the leader of Savoy. The only thing left you need is a little background knowledge and history of Savoy.

Cheers,

We had a LONG fight about this in 2012, and I believe it was decided Shadow Sail is the King of Savoy.  Shadow Sail is very active on the game, making any claims that he is "inactive" false.  He also has a small, yet working fighting force.  This request is thus invalid as the land is actively occupied.

Extension of RP Council

I think this has gone on far enough, which is why I propose the RP council gains more authority over RP, so they can work with the roleplaying countries and guide them so we have realistic, and fair RP, avoiding any major glitches ( as we saw with the British-Nepal problem awhile ago ) I propose the following..

  • RP Council observes each Roleplaying nation, guides them, and helps them from a historical point of view, this will help end controversy, and when a nation wants to go to war with another the RP council will review the circumstances, look at it historically ( so Romania doesn't invade England; thats unrealistic ). The RP council will set guidelines on how warfare is conducted and will observe it, so there is no problem with who wins/loses ( so both sides don't claim victory )
  • The RP council will be able to confiscate countries from rulers that do not adhere to the following..
    • Powerhungry
    • Aggressive unrealistically
    • Threatening the balance of RP on this wiki
  • If a ruler does any of those, the RP council will be able to confiscate their country and put it up for adoption.
  • The RP council should be able to play a bigger role in RP, by setting up events, and steering things into certain directions. This will benefit everyone as RP will be a lot more interesting, and fun. Events such as..
    • Plagues - Economy of this country might be affected, leadership should think about disease etc..
    • Piracy - Why not? This is POTCO!
    • Other things could be added as time goes on!
  • This will make everything more creative, and a bigger role for leaders!

Thank you,

Voxelplox Ƭalk {{{1}}}px

I agree and Support Support - this is very much needed and I believe this will change roleplay in a positive light.

Some of this seems...  A little sketchy, but some of it seems interesting. I guess. - Joseph Coalsmythe

Oh my God.  100% no.  That is a terrible idea.  This wiki is based on a GAME roleplay, not some factual storyline.  NO.  NO.  NO.  This is completely unfair to anyone.  I know this is just some ploy to steal what I've worked for away from me.  This is simply ridiculous and uncalled for.

--John Breasly, Savvy Designs Member 00:45, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Oppose Oppose -

To be able to pass that you'd have to get EVERY. DAMN. NATION'S. LEADER. TO. AGREE. Everyday I agree with Pearson more and more how stupid and biased this council is, and let's face it, I don't think many of us like him (Not saying I hate him).

RP Council observes each Roleplaying nation, guides them, and helps them from a historical point of view, this will help end controversy, and when a nation wants to go to war with another the RP council will review the circumstances, look at it historically ( so Romania doesn't invade England; thats unrealistic ). The RP council will set guidelines on how warfare is conducted and will observe it, so there is no problem with who wins/loses ( so both sides don't claim victory )

Um ok. So what if I want to invade England? If I lose, sucks to be me. We're not going off a historical timeline. Let's face it, we barely use the history books. Romania AND Switzerland don't even exist yet. They are existing countries anyways. Poland-Lithuaniaa NEVER has owned Tuscany until now. We never use the history books for the most part.

Um. Ok. Country confiscation because they're power hungry? That's real life all day long. You're already contradicting yourself. Nations are always power hungry. Britain was at this time. So was Spain at this time. It's called the New World at this time. If you can't accept real world, then don't try and limit role play. Not my fault you hate your life, why should I be punished. And if this was fair, shouldn't I, as a country leader have a say in it?

The RP council should be able to play a bigger role in RP, by setting up events, and steering things into certain directions. This will benefit everyone as RP will be a lot more interesting, and fun. Events such as..

  • Plagues - Economy of this country might be affected, leadership should think about disease etc..
  • Piracy - Why not? This is POTCO!
  • Other things could be added as time goes on!

I now know how Pearson feels like. I think we may be friends. Idk. Anyways you shouldn't. Period. You can't "set up events" Once again, we rarely use the history books! You're basically trying to obtain the power to say "Oh this country is too powerful but has an awesome leader. Time for citizens to die. -click- Disease spread loading." Um. ok. You call us power hungry. You call us bias. Look at yourselves, trying to get power no one approves of! We can't even conduct our business without you going "No no no little child" What the HELL are we here for then?  You obviously have no clue what the hell to do with role-play. I may have only been in it 2 Years, but Im'm not a dumbass.

YOURS. FREAKING. TRULY.,

To you power-hungry inactive idiots,

You think role-play is messed up? THE PROBLEMS WERE DONE BY YOU IDIOTS. You fat bastards can sit on your buts all day and play 'Maximilien de Robespierre and his Committee of Public Safety'. You want more power. Oh God. There will be rebellion knocking at your door.

You are all bias power hungry corrupt individuals. I've noticed that Garland, Mallace, and Blastshot have always decided as a whole :) And now they wish to ass Benjamin to their Committee to furthermore increase their power. I do not care what you people did before. It matters what you do now. Making stupid parody pages and being bias with your one voice has upset me and many others. Pearson is right about this council. It is not the council that needs to be removed it it the members of said council that need be removed.

You want to confiscate countries. Meaning you want to destroy us all. You will never get Britain or any country. You will have to pry it from my Cold, wrinkly, hand... because the other hand will be around your throat. You people are pathetic. You talk so big yet you have nothing to back up your declarations or acts. You have no one to support such declarations and acts. You want to try to regulate Role-play, How about you let it be. Laissez-faire!

You people cannot set up events. You don't even go on the game. You are inactive. You have no idea what goes on the game and complain about anything said about the game on this wiki.

"when a nation wants to go to war with another the RP council will review the circumstances"

You do not control that. How will you control that? It is called countries for a reason. You will not decide that you twits. You do not even know how warfare even occurs on POTCO nor will I be apart of stupid Role-play battles with "RUSSIA INVADES MADRID AND LOOSES 100,000 MEN WHILE THE SPANISH LOOSE 500,000 MEN!  Is that how you are going to fight? I would laugh at you. Anyone would.

How about I add something to your list. ''Execution of the RP Council members.'

What is this list? You people want to play God. Well guess what, I won't have it. Any role player won't have it.  Nepal challenged out authority. Deal with it. You think it was a massive outburst then by God allow me to declare War on every country who supports this Role-play Committee. I will not have you cause your own Reign of Terror on this wiki.

I call for the removal of the members of the Role-play council and new members to take their place. Mostly members should be active on the game and wiki and have Role-play experience.

I shall be waiting with a noose to hang you Robespierres and this Committee of Public Safety. As that is said. I strongly and deeply Oppose Oppose -

Eh... just as a reminder to everybody... Everybody can give their inputs, but the only votes recorded are those given by Council members, as it's been with every other vote :P

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @

Because Jerry you are Bias and I demand all members of this Council be removed and new members to be installed by popular vote.

Now I don't often respond to these type of things, but this one is special. To be honest, after reading, I had to clarify that this entire request wasn't a joke. If this ever passed, the council would be WAY overstepping its bounds. Where do I even start?

1. The request itself: So you're telling me that this council would take over pretty much every aspect of roleplay. Oh, and if I do something they don't like, they'll take my country away and give it to a random person. So by this request, the council is trying to turn all roleplay into a dictatorship controlled by only them. That's exactly what it is saying, without actually saying it.

2. The council would have this authority over roleplay when a. My country was not even given to me by the council! B. My country is not even REPRESENTED AT ALL on the council. How in the world does that make sense? Answer: It doesn't.

3. If in some way this does pass, I'm telling you right now, you can expect mass chaos. There is no way that even the majority of monarchs will stand for this. You say you are trying to prevent powerhungriness, but that's what you are doing by trying to expand your power WAY beyond what it should be. In case it wasn't obvious, I Oppose Oppose - STRONGLY.

4. I'm with Oldtimbers on this one: This council, if it wants to continue to exist, needs some new members that wouldn't stand for this hogwash.

BMSig

Hmm. After reading the points Al, Bobby, and Goldtimbers brought up, I'm changing to Oppose Oppose - perhaps this is a bit superfluous.

Also, in reply to Goldtimbers's request for new council members, I obviously cannot promise you a clear sweep of all existing members and a complete rebuild, but I can tell you that we are currently striving to get some new faces in the council. Anybody can join who wishes to: as long as they are currently active in roleplay. All one must do is make an application on this very page.

Cheers,

-- Jeremiah Garland Rollback @ 06:29, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Oppose Oppose - this may be good for regulating crazy people doing ridiculous things like trying to conquer Britian, but the established roleplayers are not going to like this, which we have already seen. We should not control what they do, because that will ruin the fun for them. They should be able to make their own deicisons within reason, and we will regulate other things, such as leaders of new countries etc.

Bob Moon: Application for Seat

So I guess the title says it all. I'd like to apply to become a member of the roleplay council. I think that I have a lot to offer the council that could help it with decisions and such.

For example:

  • I've played potco for a long time, and I consider myself very experienced.
  • I've been a member of this wiki community for almost 2 years.
  • I've been a member of roleplay for probably 95% of my potco career. (First as a pirate and now as Queen of France)
  • There are currently no members of my country on the council. I would appreciate some French representation in these votes.
  • There are currently (to my knowledge) no female members of the council. I mean, a female input could be helpful.
  • I tend to have creative ideas and opinions that others don't share. With certain issues, a different way of thinking could be helpful.

So I hope you'll consider me for a seat. I'm experienced and have a creative way of thinking that I think you would value. I really believe I could contribute a lot to the council. Thanks for your consideration.

BMSig

I gotta oppose this. While I have no doubt that you've played for a while, the fact that you were apart of the "Darkensees" really brings down my vote.

Savvy Sig 1

PS: The Queen of France shouldn't have a signature with a pirate sign - hint hint.

I very much Support Support - we could certainly use somebody like you in our council! France, being one of the most prominent nations in the world at this time, lacks representation in the council, and having you on board will certainly mend that error. Also, I'm not rasist, so will gladly have women in our council nao.

But seriously, on a side note, there's going to be some big changes in the roleplay council soon, as many have requested reform. I make no empty promises in saying we will strive to bring forth these changes to benefit all. One such change will be ridding of some of the old Council members who are no longer active / interested in the roleplay world. In cutting back on them, this will certainly allow us to bring forth new faces, such as Miss Moon's, and hopefully add a bit of variety to the council. Very nice application; I hope to see you in the council soon enough.

Now here is an idea I like! We need some new blood in the Council and not all the same old same old of RP that have been moaning for years. I Support Support - and hope we can get this whole new user thing going soon. I will be gone until Friday, though.

I am Neutral Neutral --leaning towards Oppose. I do like to take into heavy consideration your roleplay experience. Most applicants have a bountiful list, as you do. But what they have over something you don't is success. Your performance with France has been nothing signifigant. I haven't seen virtually any pages created, and quite frankly, I still don't even know if you're Queen with the Dispute (which you still haven't seen to.) In order to prove readiness, step up to the plate. Before we accept here, I suggest we allow waitlisted members to come in. Such as Marc, G-man, or even Voxel. Nothing against you Bob, but I just see no.. "Star-shining" quality that would pursaude me. Sorry If I sound a bit too... Mallace-like. ;)

The roleplayersTalk

Oppose Oppose - You had me in support until I read "There are currently no members of my country on the council. I would appreciate some French representation in these votes."  Just because your country is not represented does not give you the immediate right to request a position, and it would seem (per previous comments) that your goal is to achieve your country a seat on the council.  So I'm staying with oppose unless you could prove my above reasoning to be otherwise.

( Hey, Crossbones Mall and Breeze commented, I will too :P ) This might be different, good idea, but eh... not sure about the master of "Darknesse" in the council... she might turn my camel's to a dark color! xD GoldvaneSig 15:43, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Joining Breasly on Oppose Oppose - for my earlier said reasons and his.

I Oppose Oppose - The council needs changes, right now adding a new member is not on that list. We have some members to be removed and some to be added. I would also like to add that please if you are not on the council. Do not vote, it just makes clutter.

Geez people, if you're going to be butthurt about how its full right now, just put people on the wait list. lol.

Suggestion: Realistic trades and currency

Well, I was thinking about what people like to do in Roleplay, and how it could be more entertaining. One thing I thought about was trading. Users like to pretrend to trade supplies/materials with each other. Some nations tend to say they're building something using a certain wood from a certain location, etc.

Well, perhaps if you put a realistic currency/trading system, roleplay might be more fun. For example, countries have a certain amount of currency, that they can use to buy new supplies, ships, weapons, etc etc. There should be ways to earn currency as well, such as in-game happenings and whatnot. This, of course, would be created by the RP Council, with rules and such, but I am simply suggesting the general idea of a money and supply system, to make RP more fun.

Just food for thought, but I really would appreciate it if you guys looked into this, as roleplay is becoming boring to users.

GoldvaneSig 21:27, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

I would love to see a more thought-out plan (not in the means of this is a bad request, just further how it would be developed.) because I think this is an interesting idea that could go either way. Not really an expert on these sort of things so I'll wait for others input to cast my votie

The roleplayersTalk

Well, I didn't really explain much because I thought the council could create the details. After all you are the expects at roleplay, and I thought it would be better to just propose the general idea of a system. GoldvaneSig 21:57, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Oppose Oppose - This isn't an RTS (Real-Time Strategy) videogame.  And even in this was implemented, let's face it:

  • England - Infinite
  • Spain - Infinite
  • France - Infinite
  • Everyone else - 2 (collectively)

--John Breasly, Savvy Designs Member 22:00, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

John, are you a council member btw?

Also, it could be more like each country got an equal amount of money/supplies. Again, this is just an idea, that was can be altered by the council in anyway they wish. GoldvaneSig 22:14, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

France has no guild, so they will not be "infinite".

Savvy Sig 1

Goldvane, again, terrible idea.  That would not fit the lore at all.  Why should a third-world country like Nepal be able to have as much money as the British Empire?  If this happens, which it won't because this isn't an RTS, it would have to be adjusted so that powerful countries got more, because... well, they had more.

As for Tyler, you are not a council member.  Please stop involving yourself in everything we do.  I won't have any trouble in removing your uneeded posts that are cluttering actual discussion.

--John Breasly, Savvy Designs Member 22:22, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Well, as I said, the idea can be altered. RP needs something new to spice it up, and I think a trading/currency system would allow users to expand their RP experience a bit. I see many RP users pretending to trade things such as food, supplies, weapons, or money. If you created a realistic system for this, perhaps users would have something to do other than wars. GoldvaneSig 22:28, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Great idea, I hope the RP council supports. I think something like this will make it a lot more entertaining, and also  it reminds me of an idea I had long ago which was kind of like this. I think countries like England, Spain, France, should of course have more supplies then lets say ( I see where using Nepal for reference ) Nepal. :D

Voxelplox Ƭalk {{{1}}}px

Breasly, I'm making a valid point. They don't even have a guild. Nepal has more people then they do.

Savvy Sig 1

Well, it's only logical that more powerful countries start out with more wealth, because  they have worked for it-- I can see where you're coming from, as this resembles the concept of starting bounty in SVS. However, as in SVS, ships with lower bounties can work their way up; giving people the means to climb the ladder (using hard work and not simply social favors) has been proven an effective way to pacify them and simultaneously incite them to labor with renewed fervor (or in this case, play more and play better). Goldy also makes a good point in saying that it would spice up roleplay, perhaps giving it a new appeal to numbers of more capable roleplayers-- something I believe you would appreciate.

My 4th, and hopefully final request

Seeing as the Kingdom of Sardinia was actually claimed, I have decided to yet again make another request. I would like to request ownership of the Republic of Venice. I believe I would be a suitable leader because, well basically all the reasons stated in my other request. Anyways, bla bla bla, I hope you guys take the time to look at this. :)

Also I have been researching the history of the Republic for the past view days, so don't bother me about that.
