Today I found time to sit down and do a round of Conqueror for old time's sake. Much to my surprise they added two maps, but both are pretty much very similar. Despite this, there were many other differences:

  • Seas - On the two new maps, you can transport your military across the sea. Now, of course there is some things that may deter you about doing so at first. It costs 3 gold/soldier. So if you have 3 soldiers... 9 gold, etc. and if you attack from the sea on land or vice versa I noticed it's almost like a fort or keep when it comes going from land to sea.
  • Wonders - A new option besides culture, diplomats, farms, soldiers, forts and gold was added: wonders. In essence they're unique things you have in a province and they have different quirks like lessening the amount of gold to move from land to sea. Unique also meaning one person has that wonder period.
  • Screw Nults' Strategy - Basically the infamous strategy of Nults of building to the max with castles has been watered down to having castles only on capitals. Meaning, sure it might take a while still to take Nults over when he is without doubt going to lose-but lesser so. (You can almost hear Garland crying with joy)
  • New Maps - There's only two new maps but they're definetely different because of the things added to them above. They're both Roman Empire/Republic but one is BC and one is AD (This one is the AD one, the BC one doesn't have Britannia)

I am not sure if 3 is applicable to other maps, but I know to the new ones it is. It was a blast trying out the new features, though it ook me a good 100+ turns to kill Louis the Pious. I started out in what would be the Sinai peninsula and worked my way out Garland style. Just thought y'all would enjoy c:
